Steve,

There are three fuel fillers - one on either side of the day cabin and one on the boat centerline just forward of the day cabin. I've uploaded a drawing to:

Many thanks Al for your reply, the reason I was asking is that I've just got the 1/35 Italeri ELCO 80 and I'm planning to use it in a diorama that will hopefully be finished for the UK IPMS show in Novemeber.
All the best
Steve

That's interesting. I guess I had it in my mind that it came in sections and they would perhaps screw them together. Do you know if it telescoped automatically or was this done manually?
Thanks

The whip antennas did not telescope automatically.

I've been reading the USN manual "Know your PT boat" and in there it say's the whip aerial is made up from sections and looking at some photos off the web it looks like two. The other thing thats in the manual is the refuelling routine, it mentions making sure that the refuelling hose is grounded properly, does anyone know where the gound wire clipped to on the boat.

The parts book for the ELCOs lists two antennae, a telescoping and a rigid, both being government supplied and interchangeable. The rigid is listed as a two-piece unit. Unfortunately, there are no dimensions or photos of either.
