This may not be of intrest here but......
Workers at the Torpedo Factory here in Alexandria, Va. were given one of these momento's every time "one hit its mark", so the story goes.
The factory stayed in disrepair until the 1980's when it was renovated. It is now part of a large complex of shops and restaurants on the Potomac River waterfront.
The factory made torpedos from 1918 thru 1945......

Dan
Over the years I have collected a few of these torpedo's, some on chains. I understand they were popular with the ladies from the torpedo shops, and were used as Sweetheart gifts.

DAN AND FRANK;
MY GRANDMOTHER HAD A MECHANICAL PENCIL IN HER PENCILBOX. THE METAL TORPEDO LOOKED LIKE A MK. VIII.
IT'S NOW DISPLAYED IN MY FATHER'S SHADOW BOX.
