Hi All,

I’ve completed my new book ‘PT-157: A Scale Model Builder’s Notebook’.

As you'll see, the details of this model and now the book has been a great collaboration of contributors to this website and from two valued veterans of the PT-157 from the Summer of 1943!

This book covers the building of a scale model of the PT-157 that took nearly six years to complete. The book itself took a year to compile. It is written to be of interest to young and experienced modelers as well as PT Vets who will see how they are helping model builders (both directly and indirectly) with their experiences and recall!

There is more informative information about the model and the book at the website www.PT-157.com . This includes some of the book’s pages on the menu heading ‘Sample Pages’ so you may get a look of what this notebook is about.

The book is now released and can be purchased as of today on the ‘Book Store’ page of the PT-157 website. The PT-157 website will also be exclusively offering autographed editions. For those purchasing the autographed editions, the net dollars from the additional price of these limited editions will go towards support for PT related websites, museums and historical contributors of PT history! Actual shipments of the standard editions and author signed commence in 7-10 days. Crew signed editions shipments starting June 23.

Thank you for reading this post!

I am happy to say that I now have this book in my Library. I think it is one of the best done books on building a PT BOAT MODEL I have ever seen. The detail is incredible, and the photo's really tell the story of this build. For the model builder, this is one of those books you really should obtain. For those who love PT BOATS, this book is yet another must have for your Library. Bridge did a great job, and having the book signed by two crewmembers, is a real bonus............................

Nice work Bridge, and thank you very much for the book. Your building techniques and operating mechanisms like the rotating turrets will surely be appreciated by modelers. The large format and many clearly printed photographs will be too.

I've watched your progress for a number of years now. I'm still impressed with not only your work, but also with the way you updated details as new information came to light. Such as the invaluable documents made available by Dick Washichek and Al Ross, and information from veterans and the other great historians here on this board. There are not many who would have taken an already nicely completed model and ripped it apart to make it even better.

Then you followed that effort by writing your notebook and doing all the layout work in a way most professionals would be envious of.

Well done Bridge.

Hi Bridge,
With all the praiseworthy comments about your book already in the message board, any
more acclaim from me may sound superfluous. However, this is not so for I had seen the finished model. I feel a great honor to write the FORWARD for this book. I know this will soon be the DEFINITIVE book on PT boat modeling.

Well, Bridge has done a wonderful job with this new book. In it he shows, in great detail, how to construct many of the details for torpedo tubes, guns, etc. that were on the boats. While I don't have the 'watchmakers' skill and patience that Bridge displays in his work, his techniques are a wonderful inspiration and show what is possible.

A very well done book, Bridge!!!

Great job Bridge . . .

Your book came in Thursday and I finished it up late last night. Very good, a ton of detail, nicely written and well organized, and photos galore. Yeah, I'm picture book kind of guy and appreciate material that is thoroughly illustrated. Clearly a job well done. It provides a lot of meat for modelers to consider when building a truly detailed PT boat.
