Ted!
That picture is hilarious!
By the way, we are already building the two eight-tube Mark50 Rocket Launchers and will be installing them P&S in July-August. We are ltrying to figure out the correct method to attach the base to the deck so as not to pull anything apart from stress created when the launcher is swung outboard to the firing position. I think we should add some extra bracing below the deck in the overhead of the crews bunk. We are considering getting some type of simulated 5 inch Rockets that we could use for show and tell. I personally think it would be neat to shoot a bottle rocket or similar from the launcher, but the possibility of that is doubtful. But yes, stay tuned and I will post photos of the Rocket Launchers being mounted soon. Jerry

Jerry,
She is absolutely stunning! Outstanding job getting her back to her as delivered appearance. The ship's head is a great touch and will be an interesting conversation piece. It's nicer than some photos I've seen! Congratulations to you and the rest of the crew.

Hopefully one day the folks at Italeri will visit you guys and bring us a 1:35 offering of this boat. They certainly would have a great subject piece to work from.

Have a great summer!
Dave

Hey Jerry . . .

Sure looks fan-tabulous - first rate, please give the work crews the thumbs up for a great, great job.

I was just thinking, you know it's Coho (Silver Salmon) season, maybe it's time to take it off the Willamette onto the cost down to Florence or even Coos Bay and back, and while making the run, hang some tackle off the side, catch a mess of Cohos. That would make a nice celebration barbeque.

Excellent job guys'

Dick, I don't think tackle is how you fish from a PT boat.

Yeah Dick! Obviously it is done with a depth charge or several hand grenades. Pop 'em over the side, and wait to see what comes up! If it is still twitching, hit 'em with John Akin's Tommy gun...

...or is that how you fish in rural PA?

Hah!
OK so now all we need to do is fill those two Mark 6 depth charges with 300 pounds of TNT! John Akin told me they used to do regular depth charge fishing right off the coast of Oahu and then they would collect all the fish and bring them back to Pearl City and sell the fresh caught fish for beer money! They were using both Mark 6 and the larger 600 pound depth charges for testing, so I imagine they killed a lot of fish. Jerry

Whoops! My computer must be backwards!! I mean Starboard Stern !!!
I recall 'hanging off the stern' on ASR a few times...not a pretty sight!

Interesting MDA ship in the background.
