Hi guys,
By the last week of May, 1943, all the eighteen boats of Ron 15 had arrived in the Med., but would not operate together until just before the invasion of Sicily.
PTs 201,202,203,204 departed NY harbor April 1,1943 aboard the USS ENOREE arriving Casablanca the 20th of April and unloaded at Gibraltor on the 22nd and 23rd.
PTs 205,206,207,208 departed NY on USS HOUSATONIC April 2, 1943 and arrived Gibraltor April 13th. (Apparently in a faster convoy than the above).
PTs 209, 210, 212, 218 departed NY harbor on USS WINOOSKI, April 28th, arriving the port of Oran on the 19th of May. ( Convoy UGS8 ) .
PTs 211, 214, 215, 216 departed NY on the USS MERRIMACK on April 29th, arriving Gibraltor on May 13th..
The 213 and the 217 arrived May 23rd at Mers el Kebir.
If anyone has any photos of PTs on the Oilers, I'd love to see them.

Hey Steve! Found this recently and loved it!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Winooski_(AO-38)
"After a brief yard period, during which four PT boats were deck-loaded on board her, Winooski departed Norfolk on 25 April for New York, there to join a convoy bound for the Mediterranean Sea. The convoy put to sea on 28 April. Winooski arrived in Casablanca on 16 May, loaded additional fuel oil — she had refueled escorts on the transatlantic run — and departed Casablanca on the 18th. The following day, she entered port at Oran, Algeria. That evening, her anchorage came under enemy air attack. The oiler brought every gun on board — including the light ma-chineguns on the deck-loaded PT's — to bear on the attackers but failed to score a kill. The enemy, however, did little better, for the harbor suffered very little damage. The oiler remained in North Africa until 22 July, providing distant support for the invasion and occupation of Sicily. She unloaded the PT boats on 22 May; and, on 1 June, she shifted to Mers El Kébir."

Navsource has this nice photo of the USS ENOREE with PTs 201 -204 loaded.
Jim, thanks for the WINOOSKI info. My father was on the 218 at that time, which was starboard side aft, next to the 212. He was onboard during the air raid at Mers-El-Kabier and called it ' a rip snorter ".
