PT-10 had those early style windshield wiper systems installed. The plans for the boat do not show them very well, and Stan really wanted to see how they attached to the glass. Does anyone have any good shots of the wipers from the outside and the inside. How did these work? I know they were round, but how did they sit on the glass. Any help would be great so Stan can make and attach them to the boat.........................

They're called clear view screens and are still used. On the ELCOs, the shaft had a pulley on the inside that was driven by an electric motor and belt. In the photo, you can see the motor on the lower left. There are two ears on the circular frame, which I suspect were for screws to attach the frame to the window.

This particular photo is of MTB 314 after being captured at Tobruk.

This is a similar setup on MTB 73, a Vosper.

Nice photo's Al. Were the circular pieces attached to the outside of the glass. It almost looks as though they are on the inside. How did they work.............

The disk is on the outside.

Here's the ELCO drawing for the unit, images 421 and 422 on reel 3 of the 70' drawings on the CD.
