This is one day that no Son ever forgets. I was wondering if any of those that served on the boats tried to send Mom something special from the Pacific. I bet many letter were sent home for this special day. To MOM'S every where, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

I don't think my dad used his dress uniform or his dress sword in the South Pacific. They each had identical world maps. He could put a pin-hole in his letters using his copy and my mother could hold it up to her map and know where he was. Three months after this photograph he was on his way to the South Pacific.
Happy Mother's Day

What a great Photo. They both look so happy, although I bet she was worried sick about him every day. Thanks so much Nat for sharing this wonderful and touching photo.........
