Hello Again Fellow Message Board Members:

In my attempts to continue to add different things to my PT Boat Exhibit, I will be putting in a section dedicated to those who built these wonderful wooden boats.

I am looking to see if anyone can tell me what types of tools were used in the building process. I have one of the original tool boxes donated from a man named Olav Neilson. Mr Neilson worked at Elco from the early 1900's until the plant closed in 1949. The box contains his original Adz Tool used to shape the Keel. I need other tools. Tools that might have been used at Elco in the 40's. I know about the screw guns, drills, and maybe sanders, but what else. I have a guy who has hundreds of tools which he will donate what I need, but I need to tell him what I want. Can anyone shed some light as to the type of hand tools that might have been used in the plant.
