Just a quick look at the progress of my scratch built PT-10 project that is being done by Stan Pienkowski. Do you think the Flag that Stan added to the stern is large enough, lol.....................

Thanks Dave and Steve, I'm sure Stan will be happy to hear that. Many model builders are reluctant to build PT-10, because of the difficulty of trying to copy the domed turrets. I am happy to say that Stan has figured this out. I have sent away for these clear plastic domes from a Company called KIT KRAFT. You can buy them in several different sizes. For our 1/32 scale project the domes needed are 1.5 inch. They come 5 to a package and will run you roughly $10.00. This is a far cry from the $70.00 another company wanted to produce two of them!!
Stan has it figured out but for the moment I am not sure what he has up his sleeve. In any event, I will post photo's and a description on how he is building them. I have extra clear plastic domes for any of you modelers that might be interested in doing your own PT-10 or maybe a seventy-seven-footer in 1/32 scale. I can't wait to see how these domes come out, using Stan's technique. Hey if it works well, we might see more of the early Elco Boats.

Stan's model looks very sharp, indeed. I have seen following the series of photographs and its a truly amazing build. My hats off to Stan!

Stan has finished the hardest part of this project, the two domed turrets. I spoke with him the other day and you won't believe what he used for the domes. I will be talking with him to learn how this was acomplished, and post photos of the turrets soon, and the inside scoop on how to make the domes.
