In continuing the search for PT films at www.criticalpast.com, I came across this one from Normandy/D-Day: Start at the 1:20 mark.

Could be PT 72?

It was neat to see the RON 2(2) boats in their operational configurations. I have some of PT71 and 72 as built (offset turrets), so Charlie's find was helpful to see the transition. I have a number of on-board shots of PT 199 (Ted's find) from NARA (found by Chip Marshall). Here are a couple of them:

The above shot was cropped from a broader shot that shows her nested with several 83' cutters.

Nice photo.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is that wooden rack in the bottom left hand corner of the second photo?

I'm not sure. These were special ops boats and the racks may have been storage bins for inflatable rafts or other "soft" gear. Maybe one of the Alamo Scouts has a better explanation.

I'll look at the other photos tonight and see whether any of them have something in the bins.

Will,

No. Those mounts are for .50s. I've seen a photo of her with the guns (twins I BELIEVE) on them ... But, I can't remember where, maybe on that critical past link Charlie provided ...

I apologize, there are photos of the 199 in the links provided by both Charlie and Ted.

You can see the twin 50s in the photos in the link which Charlie provided.
