PT-10 PROJECT PHOTOS

I thought I would put up some of the latest photos from my PT-10 Project that Stan Pienkowski is scratch building. Hope you enjoy them. More to follow.................

1- Stan has now completed adding all Basswood planking to the Hull and decking. Bass wood soaked in a tray of water and bent to fit hull shape. Pinned and removed. He has primed hull, and completed the first coat of wood patch filler.

2- Second coats of Wood patch Filler spread on to the areas needed.

3- Wood patch Filler is spread onto the Hull mixed with water to take out any imperfections in the boats planking. The Beautiful lines of the Elco 70 Footer can be seen here.

4- Another look at Wood Filler. This is the third and final coat of Filler that Stan has applied.

5- After wood filler has dried, Stan continues to sand the hull, taking out remaining imperfections.

6- More sanding on the hull towards the stern.

Frank;
The project is looking great! Just using my stuff as a baseline, Stan only needs another 40 hours of work and this sweet model will be complete!
Keep up the good work.
Take care,
TED

I thought I would add a few more photos of Stan Pienkowski's scratch built project. I hope you guys enjoy the process.

Frank

PT-10 Hull has now been filled in and sanded. Below decks have a coat of gray primer. Deck has also been completed and will be spray painted gray as well.

Cabin structure has been traced out on bass wood with cabin windows cut out.

Cabin pieces have been lined up for fitting. Much sanding will take place to insure a tight fit.

Cabin pieces are fitted together with traced out lines on bass wood for proper placement of parts.

Long Cabin Trunk structure has now been fitted into place, sanded, with first coat of fill in place.

Did somebody keeping a log of the building of PT 10 with pictures and
everything for a future book. I have the digital image requirements that most publishers need. No more 8 X10 glossy prints. They are too lazy
to scan them..

We are taking photos of the project because I enjoy seeing the boat come together. It is a great way for the guys on the message board to see some of the projects that are underway. I am somewhat dissapointed in that some of the guys are doing projects, but we don't get to see them. This is a great forum to showcase your work, although I do not want to get tagged with this message board saying we are turning it into a modelers message board. I love this board very much and enjoy the photos of the boats, men, models, and the fact you can learn so many things. Keep the photos coming guys, and for those of you who do have photos but can't download them here, just ask. Many of the guys here can walk you through putting them here.

PT-10 PROJECT PHOTOS - 3/09/2011

I thought I would show you three more new photos from the project. Stan is moving along, although much work is still needed to complete the boat.

Frank

Hull and Cabin Trunk are being worked on. Hull is complete and fully sanded

Stan has assembled the cabin trunk and has begun sanding and filling. Cabin windows are being cut out.

Cabin Trunk is put into place for measurements. Front windows will be cut out as sanding and more filling is needed.
