Not sure if anyone can point me in the right direction here but hoping to get lucky.
My girlfriend was very close to her dad, and he died while she was young.
While on vacation we stopped in to see a WWII BB which also had a PT exhibit. [the drawback of her dating a history buff] In any case the PT exhibit drew out a bit of history, she knows her dad was in the Phillipines on a PT boat, but knows little else.
Is there any place to find the crew list for the PT's and where they were stationed etc.. It's a part of her dad she never knew and I'd like to be able to give her what information I can.
You can reach me at Blachorn@comcast.net
Thanks for any help.
Regards, Jeff

It would certainly help if you would please list his name here. Several of us have access to some information on former PT BOATERS. This would be a great place to start.............

I believe his full name was Louis August Millinghausen.
Not 100% sure as to the time frame, one of his relatives is seeing what he may have stored away, so I may be able to narrow that down hopefully.
From what I can tell from the stories I've heard it was maybe 44-45 and he may have been in Manila at some point.
Just getting started on this so any help would be appreciated.

In checking my records, I do not show this man as ever having served with the PT BOAT SERVICE. I will do some more checking and if something turns up, I will contact you. Just because it is not in my records, does not mean he did not serve, as many records were incomplete............

saw your post. not sure if this state to state but in iowa you can go to your county seat admin. building or courthouse and ask for a person military discharge. they have to have it for property tax credit. it may be earlier then dd214 form but but it will list his service none the less. hope this helps.thats how i started my search for my dads records.
