Now that everyone is excited about the Huckins plans that Frank Ryczek has dug up, here are two photo's that we obtained from Huckins Files. They were built by a Mr. C. Raymond Teller, and Cindy Purcell (Huckins) has no idea where this model or others may be hiding. Not a bad job for being completed in the 40's.

O.K.
You guys have peaked my interest. Did you know PT99 (Porkers Stern) lasted quite awhile, she was lost in a storm in the 1980's.
In refernecr to the model: what are those 6 fittings on the forward deck? are they low profle deck vents?
Does anyone have photos of a RON 26 boat in Hawaii, with the 40mm aft?
I also have a few photos of RON 14 boats in Panama.
Take care,
TED

Hey wait a minute!! Or two!!!
That model of Huckins I do believe I have seen the same model in the downtown Jacksonville Maritime Museum Society (JMMS) location at the foot of the Main Street Bridge a few years ago.
I was at one time a volunteer and watch officer at the museum and I do seriously remember seeing a model identical to this one! Could it be one and the same????!!!!!!!!!!
The old museum is being torn down and is now re-located in the North Bank Jacksonville Landing. I'll have to go there and check this out.
A lot of older models and exhibits are now in a storage facility as a lot of the exhibits rotate from time to time. Another point is that this model could have been on loan from a private collector. I know for a fact that most of the models that I constructed for the museum are now in storage. I just wonder if this beautiful Huckins model is collecting dust in that storage building??? Hmmmmmmmmm!!!

These objects were on the actual boat and they are in the logical location for crew quarters vents. Maybe...?
PTBHQ has a number of color photos of the Hawaiian boats with the 40mm aft.

Paints came in yesterday from White Ensign Models. Should be an ineresting look using #5 Standard Navy Gray and #20 Standard Deck Gray, for the boat. That is what it calls for in 1940-41. I would say it will be simular to the boat used for the Elco Crane Project.......... MORE TO COME

Hi All,
I recently had a private viewing of the Teller model at Mystic Seaport. It was donated in 1950 by Huckins and is very good shape. Unfortunately my main camera had issues so I ended up taking the photos with my phone, so not the best quality. But the one thing I noticed is the rudders and was wondering if anyone has an actual photo of the rudders out of the water? The model seems to be slightly off in the stern from the stern shots I've seen.
Also was wondering if anyone knows what the paint scheme used for MTBRON 26? I am working on a later version model
I'm also working on a 1/72 scale kit for the Huckins (sans weapons). Would like to follow with 1/35 kit (again sans weapons). I'm in touch with Cindy Purcell at Huckins Yachts.
Thanks for your comments.
