Simply fantastic results! Am awaiting the "finished " project. Built a diorama of the last TBD "Devastator" from VT- 6 at Midway to land back aboard the "Big E", 6- T- 11; the aicraft was literally out of fuel as it landed, and had been so badly shot to pieces that the hydraulics failed. The tail hook could not be raised and the wings would not fold; as she fouled the landing area 6- T-7 also damaged, was forced to ditch along side. With a battle still raging, the Flight Deck Officer ordered it jettisoned off the flight deck to clear that precious landing area, and actually had the crew (including the wounded rear gunner ) help commit the battered wreck to join 38 of 41 of her sisters had that launched together 4 hrs earlier...not 1 flinched or aborted in the face of suicidal odds... where do we get such men... and as you all know, they pulled the Zero CAP down to sea level, leaving the skies above unguarded for a few precious minutes....
