There is a so-so picture of either the 336 or 338 boat on page 136 of Frank Johnson's UNITED STATES PT-BOATS OF WORLD WAR II. It shows the portside rocket launcher; in addition, the boat has a different paint scheme than normally seen on boats in that area.

Thanks Will I checked that out its not the one I was looking for .I may be wrong on which boat .The boat I saw had mid war radar and no torpedos in the front racks. I think it must be on the web site. Ill have to start looking .Another question where the cables on the torpedo racks when there was no torpedo in the rack?
Thanks George

Photos show empty racks both with and without cables attached. On those with cables attached, you often see the cable either laying in the rack frame or wrapped around the torque tube between the uprights.

I just found this post and realize it is from 7 years ago. My Dad, Elmer L. Douglas, was the skipper of 336. I have several pictures but not one of the full deck showing rocket launchers, according To Buckley's book 336 was one of the first to have rocket launchers. Dad died in 1984 and he rarely spoke of his experiences in the war so I know little of what happened.

Is there any way that Al's photos could be reposted so we can see them? I missed them originally and with the PB hostage situation we can't see them at all.
Thanks
Jerry

Jerry, I'll upload some photos on the Small Combatants Group (Facebook) tonight.
