Hello Joy!
I looked on ebay and saw Rev Bob's item. It is a Magnesyn Compass, along with a power supply and indicator unit. Although he got it partly correct, the PT Boats did not have Magnesyn Compass' installed on them. Rather they had a Flux Gate Compass. In the photo he uses, it shows an 80 foot Elco Bridge with the slave indicator of the fluxgate circled. The slave indicator is the same, but the flux gate has a few more parts, like a master indicator and a completely different power supply and sensing unit. I am pretty sure smaller boats like maybe LCVP's used a magnesyn compass, but not a PT Boat. By the way, both PT305 and PT658 already have the correct Fluxgate compasses, I am unsure about PT617 or PT796 up in Fall River. Thanks for pointing it out! Rev Bob is a good guy!
