As with most research projects, the deeper I get into the Higgins stuff, the more questions I have. What's a bit frustrating is that many of these questions may never be answered, as most of the Higgins documentation appears to have been destroyed or lost. For instance, I'd like to know Higgins' design philosophy - why did Higgins PTs look the way they did? Why did Higgins build a Sparkman & Stephens PT design (PT5. 6) that was in direct competition with his own? How did the post-war Jugoslavian copies come to be? What were the details of the Argentinian contract? Inquiring minds want to know...

Al: Be sure to read A.J. Higgins' letter to the Navy Dept. at the end of the "PT ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY". Questionable grammer aside, it surely gives an insight into the man himself and what drove him to the heights he achieved.
