Hello PT Boat Message Board!
Does anybody know the current status of the ex PT486 (recently renamed and painted as PT109) in Cape May, New Jersey by owner Ron Sinn? I believe Ron is the son of a former owner of the boat. How is the boat coming along? Any recent pictures of it you could post here on the message board?
Thanks! Jerry

Too bad the folks redoing this boat decided to keep this restoration pretty much a private affair. I know I had called a few times two years ago but was treated rudely. I have no clue as to the current status of the boat at this point, although Garth might have some inside scoop. I wonder what is happening with all of those boats that were purchased in NEW YORK. This is the same group that owns PT-728. I have heard nothing is moving forward, but maybe more information is out there............

Hi Frank!
Thanks for the update, yes I saw the photos that had the 486 painted to resemble the PT109 it looked black and grey and had some torpedo tubes. But now no news for two years? I was just curious. The Fleet Obsolete, Kingston NY group seems to be still alive and kicking! Didnt they take the 728 to Fall River recently? I would also be interested in hearing an update on the status of the PT48 as well as their other PT Boats! I wonder if they have any recent photos to post on the internet? I sure hope so! Jerry

I didn't see any updates on the PT-728 Web page on PT-48 or the others they own. In fact there is something there that says they are interested in selling one of the boats. I do not know of any ongoing work to PT-48 since she arrived in Kingston in 2009. I do know they spent a considerable amount to update PT-728 to keep her sea worthy. I guess we shall see what happens.............

Jerry;
Thanks for the update, Bob and the guys down there with 305 are sure doing a fantastic job! Watching the joining the keel sections brought a tear to my eye. I only hope PT 48 can see this kind of restoration someday. The last update I had(earlier this year), they are pursuing corporate sponsorship, for one or all of the boats. Frank has already mentioned the rest of the update and you know the rest, they poured alot of $$ into 728, so she could get underway this season. The other boats(48, 459, and 615) are in a storage state as per the photos already out there.
Take care,
TED

Update on PT486
I found this aerial photo of what might be PT486 in the Avalon Point Marina just NW of Avalon NJ (near Wildwood) I am hoping my buddy Joe will be going to check it out and verify it is the PT486. Check out this aerial picture from Google Maps. Those almost appear to be two replica torpedo tubes and the starboard gun tub next to the charthouse. It looks like the stern is covered with tarps. That sure looks like the boat, which was made to look like PT-109. Great find Jerry, from that HIGGINS HELICOPTER your flying in. Looks like the deal in which I thought she was sold has not gone through, hmmm more to come I hope.
