The deeper I get into the material on the boats, the more fascinating they are becoming. While only 20 boats were actually built (five for Finland but taken over by the RN as MGB 69-73, seven for the RN as MGB 100-106, and eight for the RNN as OJR1-8), they were surprisingly different in appearance, armament, and machinery. Here are some pix illustrating the outward differences:
I've pretty much completed the drawings for the prototype (MRB-2) and have started on the RNN H-8. My Finnish colleague has already suggested a few changes to the MRB and I've made those.

Its sounds like great work is being done on your Higgins project, its probably due, since we hear so much about ELCO most of the time. Can't wait to see the finished product.

True, we do hear more about the Elco, but for some reason more photos and information is out there on these boats. Elco did a wonderful job of catologing their boats and procedures. I look forward to seeing Al's work on these boats............
