Before my friend passed on, he had taken a trip to Wildwood New Jersey to see the 486 first hand. Of course she had been redone as a working boat for sightseeing duties. I have some photo's of her somewhere in my collection, but I must find them. As you might know, the 486 belongs to Ron Sinn. He traded another boat for her. Now, the last I had heard Mr. Sinn was going to redo the boat as PT 109, as he has many parts and pieces from PT Boats. I have no clue how he is doing with the project and I am not sure how to contact him, although our PT Coordinator Don Shannon might have his phone number. You can contact Don of course at Battleship Cove. I have video of PT 486 coming off the assembly line at Elco for water trials and again on another DVD during Navy Week.

Frank, I sent a message to Mr Shannon but never got a reply. I guess the 486 will resurface someday or wind up like the boats in Samar. Tom

I agree with Frank, last I heard, this boat was going to be restored/reconstructed as an80' ELCO to 486 1944-45 specs.
Someone needs to call Ron Sinn and get a SITREP.
Regards to all,
TED
