I've been thinking about the reunions I've attended over these years and wonder if you've all been doing the same.
I think it would be fun to hear what your favorite reunion years and locations were and share a story if you've got one for old time sake.

I'm fuzzy on the details, but it was probably sometime mid to late 1970's when my family attended the Charleston SC reunion. It was the one where we actually rode on an experimental post-WWII PT in Charleston Harbor. If my memory serves me there were three boats carrying vets on that day. Not to gloat, but it just so happened that that VADM Bulkeley was aboard the boat my family rode that day. It was a glorious occasion riding aboard that roaring beast under an Admiral's pennant.
The story I remember was that some of the guys really wanted to up the ante and asked to have her opened up a bit. Now I'm not sure of the motivation except to say that it would have increased the thrill for all of us, but over the years I've listened to more wartime stories than I can count with the the theme, "we were the faster boat". So, I can imagine a touch of that competitive nature may have welled up as our guys looked upon the next boat.
The men were so much younger then, the reunions louder and more vibrant, but over these many, many years the zeal of story telling just never seemed to quit. Great times, great stories and the greatest role models; --forever heroes.
