I sure miss not reading about the PT Boat Veterans talking about their experiences on the message board. I wish they would come back to the message board. I copy their recollections and put them in my PT Boat archives. It took only one person to ruin these PT Boat Veteran's. These PT Boat Veteran's are a significant part of history.

Maybe you should re-read the messages because that's not true Bill. And I don't know why you would bring a subject up that can only cause more bad feelings.

Maybe I didn't say it right but I would like to see them come back to the message board. It's the only way we can learn and know what they went through on the PT Boats and Bases. That's the best that I can explain it.If not I will keep all my archives to myself and quit the message board.

We certainly do not want you to quit the message board. I am sure you did not mean any harm when you asked your question, which maybe you do not know is a sore subject of late. Some of our PT BOAT VETS have left the board, for one reason or another, so we really do not want anyone to leave. We have a great time here, and many of us have become friends because of this board. For modelers, this board is a wonderful source of information. We really love when the Veterans tell their stories, and I hope that continues. Please do not leave, because we need everyone here to continue the mission long after our PT BOAT VETERANS have gone on their final patrol.............

Well said, Frankie. I echo your sentiments. This is an increasingly tenuous thread of history we are dealing with here, guys.....

Here is my 2c worth... I believe the PT Boats fought the ugliest part of the unglamorous war. We lived through many fights we believed would be our last look at the world. The memories were so traumatic that I never discussed them even with my family. But participating on this board has been a pleasure and a significant relief. Finding earnest people who are interested in details, not Hollywood hype has been refreshing and interesting. I appreciate that this group has dedicated time and understanding to the PT history. If one of us says something out of line, in poor taste or gives a wrong impression, let’s be adult about it. I hope everyone interested in the PTs hangs in there so that the combined story tells it like it was.

This is a formal apoligy to everyone on the message board and I was listening to my interview that I had wit John Bulkeley in 1980 and he told me, "you know you have done your best and when it is time you just need to stop, think about it, put it aside and take some R&R(Rest and Relaxation and forget about it for awhile." So I think that's what I am going to do. Bill Manley
