I am a Second Generation PT Boater. My father (1917-1998) was a PT skipper and group leader in RON 23. I am also a trained historian (M.A. in 2008, and currently a Ph.D. candidate) and have been doing some sidebar PT research at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

Specifically, I am looking for a listing of the boat numbers in RON 23 during the period Jan. to Dec. 1944. I am sure the numbers fluctuated somewhat as some boats were added and some lost in service. If anybody has this info, I can be reached at: blair.scott@epa.gov
Thanks,

S. Blair

Squadron 23, assigned to the South Pacific, had action at Bougainville and Green. Transferred to the Southwest Pacific in December 1944, the squadron had action at Palawan, in the Philippines. It also based for a time at Mios Woendi, New Guinea, and at Mindoro, P.I., but had no action from these bases.
