Good day folks
I am building a 1:24 model pt boat and have a painting question.
Was there a strip dividing the below water and above water painting (water line). If so what color would this typically be
Thanks

Hi Bob,
If I understand your question correctly, did PT Boats have a waterline boot painted between the red antifowling bottom and the upper color, the answer is probably not. I've never seen a boot painted on a PT in any photo I've seen.
You will see oil (and whatever else went over the side of a PT) scum and the usual sea creatures (moss, crustaceans, etc.) that have attached themselves around the waterline when weathered and sometimes it looks like a boot. But it's not as precise as a boot.
So, which boat are you building?
Dave

For what it's worth, I agree with David. Some of our boats painted the bottom antifouling color clear up to the chine and some stopped at what they believed represented the water line. There was no physical "stop" to guide painters. It did change the asppearance of the boat, our crew preferred the waterline colnfiguration.

Didnt have 3 20mm but had roll off torpedoes. That would be the 305. And still around to this day.

MAYbe the 462 boat, Bob. Definitely 20mms midships and aft, can't be sure about the bow. I'll send you a pick if you post your e-mail address.
