A modeler on another site describes a model he built of what he states was an actual PT, although he couldn't remember the number. According to his input, it was called the Tulagi Terror and had a very unique armament configuration. Supposedly, as a result of battle damage, a 37mm and four K guns (single barrelled depth charge launchers like those carried on destroyers and destroyer escorts) were mounted aft. I couldn't find the nickname on Will's list nor any reference to it anywhere, but am somewhat intrigued with the configuration.
Has anyone ever seen a photo of this boat or recall seeing it "in the flesh"?

Boy, Al - the name sure rings a bell, I've read it someplace, but I sure don't know where or when.

Wonder if the armament could have actually been some mix of basket-style rocket launchers, 60mm mortar tubes and/or Thunderbolt mount. Probably not.
TULAGI ROT is the only name that even comes close, and that was definitely not the boat in question.

Al;
Since you are a salty type, I would say AAAARRRRRGGGG! No photo that I have seen supports this. Or here say. While it might look unique, and different, But.... we both know , this type configuration would not really support the immediate mission of the Tulagi boats, and I can never imagine them wasting a boat on this specific configuration. Was it a 77' or 80' model?
Lets face it it looks cool but it never was.
Take care my friend,
