Marty:
Great idea. It would be a real nice for some of us to share photos with each other, or include a photo along with a write up to better describe something. Can it be done? Only our WEB MASTER can asnswer these and other important questions...............

I'd be happy to host any PT pictures at my web site. Its not the same as getting photos INTO the messages of course...
Here's an idea: Anyone can put pictures up on a free FLICKR account - and then hand out the weblinks to those photos.

I'm currently working on some type of system for hosting photos (non-FTP) and linking instructions for this message board.
I have registered at a remote photo hosting site (photobucket.com) and I'll have to create a simple instruction sheet for uploading images and including a "link" in the message board posts. This however will take a few days. When setup is completed I’ll give out the PhotoBucket member name and password, for everyone to share.
This will be allowed until the spammer hit it, they love the “holes” that are created when initiating a feature like this, especially Porno Spammers. Images will not be hosted at the ptboat site, for legal reasons, hosting space requirements, bandwidth uses, and all of the menacing hackers/spammers. Also the lack of a non-techie and easy every-person-upload feature. However, it’s mainly legal issues and bandwidth usage – after all the regular and PT-info sections of website receives around 250-300 unique visitors (not counting-message board) a day.
Without this Linking and Photo posting spammers invade every few days, but not as destructive as on the earlier message board. It’s not unusual to find their postings every few days. Since I’m usually up late most nights (midnight + in the PST time zone), I can delete them before they are usually seen – but not always. However this new features might bring them on more aggressively – time will see.
