Ahoy there.

I finally got a new digital camera in December, that is capable of taking somewhat decent images of my models.

I thought that some of you might be interested in looking at some of the images I have taken of my in-progress work on a 1/32 scale Lindberg PT boat model.

This kit is being modified quite a bit and there will be a fair bit of scratch-building going on too. Lindberg was kind enough to send me some requested parts such as the two extra engine room vents I needed. They also sent me some more 20mm Oerlikon cannons and magazines for them.

The torpedo tube mounts will be heavily modified with scratch-built bases and running out gear before they are glued to the deck. Lindberg will have you assembling the torpedo tubes backwards if you follow their instructions. You need to glue the front of the tube to the rear and the rear to the front in order to get the reinforcing bands around the tube in the right place.

I like the looks of a planked deck so I scribed planks into the deck of this model.

There is a lot more work to be done on this and more images will follow as the work progresses.

The model will be radio controlled when finished.

Thanks for looking and cheers from Peter

You are doing a bang up job on this Lindberg Kit as this mass produced boat has many many problems associatd with it. I would still like to see someone take this Kit and turn it into a HIGGINS PT. With the stubby nose and shape, it should prove a challenge to any Model builder. Thanks for the update, as I always enjoy seeing works in progress.......................GOOD JOB

Wow, when did they start molding this in white??? Peter, you are doing a fine job and as Frank said there are many problems. Go into the photo bucket account and look at my 167, that is a Lindberg boat.
Take care,
TED
