my boat(pt108)and two tother boats were attacked and strafed by friendly fire.the planes had the wrong recognition signals for the day.all three boats were told not to return fire.one plane turned away and the other made another strafing run on us.we still withheld our fire as the skippers tried everything they could to get the plane to cease fire.finally the plane had enough, said sorry, and flew off.there was not a shot fired by either boat.as per the action report the pilots were reprimanded. earl

So what exact date did Bud's football knee blow out? When would he have been relieved of duty?

J.W. Ruff did report for duty on the 157 at Panama, and in fact all of the log pages are in his writing including the Deck Log page posted here. Bud signed that one but the balance were signed by someone other than Bud ( someone copied his signature). A close copy but not Bud's handwriting.
