Season's Greetings to all.
I am looking for the identities of the 6 PTs which mistakenly torpedoed USS McCawley in Blanche Channel on the night of 6/30/43.
If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it,
regards,
Brian

Brian: The boats involved were from Ron 9, commanded by Bob Kelly of "Expendable" fame. According to the AARs, the boats were PTs-118,153,158,159,160 and 162, with hits probably being scored on MCCAWLEY by the 118 and 153 boats.

Will and Brian If you would e-mail me at rpullano@stny.rr.com, I could discuss the McCawley..I was a QM on the 162 boat, but NOT at the time of the sinking. However I can put you in touch with the motor-mac and the exec who were on the boat at the time.

Gentlemen,
thanks for the input. I actually posted the question on behalf of a friend, I will find out if he needs additional info on the McCawley.
I will also use the info to complete the McCawley's entry in the Allied ships database at uboat.net and credit the source.
Thanks again,
best wishes for a joyous holiday season,
Brian
