HI DICK.I ALSO SAY THASNK YOU VERY MUCH.THAT IS AN EXCELLENT JOB.I WAS IN RON 9 BASE FORCE AT RENDOVE AND A COOK IN THE GALLEY THERE.THIS SURE BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES OF THE BASE.I LIVED IN ONE OF THE TENTS WITH THE FOXHOLE JUST OUTSIDE IT.WE USED THE FIELD OVENS TO COOK ON.WE SERVED THE BASE FORCE PERSONEL AS WELL AS THE BOPAT CREWS.A LOT OF NIGHT TIIME AIR RAIDS.THANK YOU AGAIN EARL

Interesting to learn of the grounding and subsequent "destruction to prevent capture" of the 153 and 158.
"At Close Quarters" states the location was "Munda Point," so I guess we're looking at them on a reef off Munda in that footage...
From what I can surmise, the SCR-517A-equipped boats were barge-hunting across the channel from Rendova, and got hung up.
