I obtained my father's navy records from Missouri a few years ago. Now I would like to know how I can find out which PT boats he served on. He was with Ron7 from 01July1944 to 01Sept1944 and 10Oct1944 to 15Feb1945, Ron25 from17Feb45 to 03Nov45. He also spent some time at the MTB Rons7thFleet doing fuel detail I believe. I have his original discharge papers that says he was awarded a purple heart but Missouri said they had no record of that, how can I check into that also. My father's name is Willliam Grueneberg. |

PT 134 was assigned to Ron 7 from 9-17-42 to 2-15-45 when it was transferred to Ron 25. No other boat from Ron 7 went to Ron 25 so I think it might be safe to say your Dad transferred Rons with the 134.
Hope this gives you someplace to start from. Welcome to the message board.

Thank you gentlemen for your replies and information. There used to be a web site that listed all PT boat numbers to the Rons. Does that still exist? |
