Got my copy in the mail today. What a nice promotional piece!! It contains lots of color photos of 658 before and after restoration and a bunch of Dick's really fine cutaway drawings. For me, it's a treat to see drawings like these that are actually in proportion and look like they're supposed to look. Great translation, Dick!

Dick's drawings say a lot of words in explaining PT construction. Nothing else so easily shows the rather surprisingly complicated interiors. Thanks for everything Dick!

Jerry . . .

Hope you got a great response - after all were PT Boat Nuts. Its also very important we keep the few (very, very few) boats still around for other generations to enjoy and experience. More importantly to keep alive the boats, memories and history of the men who served on them as well as the men and women that built and repaired these boat we hold so close to our heart.

As it appears, little is taught about World War II in schools today, what going to happen in ten, twenty or even thirty years from now, when I (now 62) and many of the gang presently here on the board are gone. I'm sure my great liberal state of California can't wait to minimize World War II histories and stricken all of its politically incorrect slang and “mean spirited” jargon from the war-time produced movies, books, documentaries and even little old message boards like this one.

Regardless of your reason or passion of PT's, please don't be shy to support the Battle Cove boats of Headquarters as well as PT-658 in Portland, Oregon.

Send Jerry an email: jerry.gilmartin@intel.com, I believe he wrote earlier for a $15 donation to the Portland group "Save The PT Boat Inc." you get a copy of the "PT 658" booklet. Please donate if you can.

Wishing all a good & restful weekend.
Dick . . .
