I agree Frank. I read that the first 3 0r 4 have the same problem but then settle down with less hopping around.

Don't feel bad, Frank, I fell asleep somewhere in the middle (it started out too slow). It was no Band of Brothers. I thought BofB would be a hard act to follow but I recorded it, so I'll give it another look today.

Band of Brothers was a superior series. I am afraid "Pacific" or any other effort to tell the story of the war against Japan will suffer from narrative problems just due to the nature of the conflice.
