Wow, you guys must be older than dirt! I remember cheaper prices for models and paint but really? 10c for a bottle of Testors Paint? That must be way before my time.. I got ripped off! I love ribbing you Frank! Good luck with your new website, it really is awesome! Jerry

Jerry

I am starting to feel older than dirt. In my hometown, we used to have a ZAYRE DEPARTMENT STORE. I used to walk down the hill every Friday night with my buddies and grab models and paints from the discount bin. I can remember buying the Revell PT-109 for 50 cents. They had a large bin filled with TESTORS paints and a sign that read .10 cents for Model paint.

This would have been around 1967-69. I would have been ten or twelve years old. Boy those were the days. We would follow that up with a trip to the 5 and dime store, sit at the counter and buy a Milk Shake. Walk back home, which was a good 3 miles. No worries in those days. By te prices sure went up over the years. WILL DAY probably remembers when the had paper models (ha, ha).........

OH MY GOD, ... ZAYER's ............. I remember that store in Hyannis ... buying shoes, new pants, new shirts and sweaters there before we came home from vacation before the new school year. I'd buy HOT WHEELS cars and G.I. JOE stuff there too.

OK OK I guess I remember those days, I was 6 or 7 in 1968. I remember going to Kreske's Dept Store (or is it Kresge?) before they renamed it to become K-Mart. They had models there too. I guess I shouldn't be calling you older than dirt if that is only 3-4 years older than me! Jerry

You guys remember those days huh? In 1968 Jerry I was 11. You would have not been allowed to hang with us (ha, ha.) My friend Bobby Scoville's Kid brother used to follow us, and we would chase him to make him go home. One day he followed us to Zayre's and we had to keep him with us. Remember the old Batman, Superman, Lost In Space, models. Or how about the T-Rex model. Oh Boy, I could go on and on............

That's it Will, you are no longer in my Will, but I am still waiting for my PT BOAT. I figure I should be roughly 60 or so when it arrives.........

Ahh...the days of 98-cent model kits and 10-cent Testor's paints...

I remember them well.

Hi Frank Andruss.

You were 11 in 1968. Now I am really feeling like and old man.

Cheers from Peter

I had contacted TESTORS main Company to see if they had any these boats in stock. According to them, this model has been discontinued, and several of the hobby shops I contacted do not have them anymore. If anyone has a source for me on these 1/200 models, let me know because I would like to purchase no less than 6..................
