Thanks a million Gary...how do you get this info? This last one was interesting as my dad was the cook "Cookie" and manned the other 50cal turrret.
On his turret was a caricature of some skinny chick wrapped around a torpedo with a trident which also had the name "Green Sin" on it.
The arrival of 225 was a little different. Dad said the convoy went thru a typhoon and when they were unloading from the LST in Mangarin Bay, Mindoro, Jap planes hit them. That account agrees with the ship's log of one of the LST's that I found.
Dad passed away fairly young (59) in 1971. He mentioned he was older than most the other guys.
There is a song on a record album 'Victory At Sea"...starts out with a sound clip of a PT revving its engines...he came running into the room to tell me what it was....went fishing once and he was at the motor in the stern...I cast off an yelled "Start Engines"...he froze...said THAT was his job on the PT and I could see he was in a very different place.
In any event, Never a day in my life I don't think about his stories. Not even one day. And all you guys are something I don't think the world will ever see again. I salute you all. God Bless you....and needless to say...I appreciate all the help you are giving me.

My Dad was a motor mac on PT 374. He passed back in 1989 so I know where you are coming from. I just did a Google search and found these. Just a thought, I looked up the Skipper and Mr. Jolin and they both are still listed in the white pages so yiu might even be able to call and say hello. Glad I could help some.

I really enjoyed the interview with Verl Jolin Gary, thanks for digging it up. He impressed me as a gentleman and that he spoke from the heart.
