Hello Guys:
A quick update of the PT-374 Diorama Project. Alex Johnson is forging ahead with the actrual build of PT-374 and the backdating that is associated with this project. Things are going well. Today, I will be picking up the Quonset Hut build from Stan Pienkowski. As you might recall, there was some concern as to the way the panels were added to the frame. My friend Charlie Jones felt that the panels were incorrect. Now I have seen them running both ways, but after doing some research and digging through my photo's, it was suggested to Stan to make the change.
A really neat product that Stan used on the re-fit was brought to his attention by Frank Ryczek. The stuff I understand is real siding, and Stan said it looks great. I will post photos here soon of the finished Quonset Hut. We decided to show an open ammo locker for the 40mm Bofors that was on PT-374. They had two of them on the stern. Alex brought up a good question. How were the 40 shells stacked in the ammo locker. In order to be correct, I am asking any of you guys for any shots showing the shells in the lockers, or any PT BOAT VETS that can tell us. I sent Frank a nice kit of shells that have the ammo cannisters, and wooden boxes. I think the kit has somewhere around 40 loose shells that we want to incorporate into the build.
Frank is busy working on Christmas presents for the family, but will be building the 40mm emplacement, Torpedo Tow, and Jeep, as soon as the Christmas season is over. Things are moving along, and I hope to add photos as they become available. The family of Wallace McNeish (who we are building the project for) is very excited about the build, and so happy that we are honoring him in this way. When completed, the build we be an exact replica of PT-374 in the Pacific. I take this time to thank Stan Pienkowski, Alex Johnson, Frank Ryczek, and others who have domated much of thier time and experience to this build. Without them, the project would be dead in the water..............

Can't wait to see this project when you get it finished. From your previous posts of the quality of work the artists you have working on this project it should be amazing.

Thanks Gary. There certainly are some great friends working on this project. I have no doubt as to this Diorama as being the high-light of my Exhibit..........
