I found this General Dynamics Corporation history interesting but it doesn't exactly shine a bright on Electric Boat right before WW II. It mentions that they were under investigation, does anyone have further information or know how accurate this is? The page doesn't mention any results of the inquiry:

I can tell you this. I read the part about the 1977 time period. I was working at EB in Groton, Ct. from 1973 to 1978. The week Veliotis came in he immediately laid off thousands of workers, I was one of them. Not even a week's notice. Pack your bags and get out. It left a sour taste with everybody in the comunity for a long time. He was wanted by the U.S government till the day he died. I wouldn't doubt anything in that article.

Bad news Ray. The article reads like it was a four-way fight back then, resolved by shotgunning the least guilty. Did they give out any severance at all?

Yes they did. They didn't have a choice. Long time ago but I beleive it was 2 weeks pay.
