I am currently doing some research regarding PT Boat construction in Florida. I am trying to find out what type of boat may have been built in Newport, Florida which is near the Gulf.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

LDLong

LD,
I have heard/read that Miami Shipbuilding and Drydock assembled several 63 foot AVR (aka Crash Rescue Boats) for the Army Air Forces during WW2. Also, up in Jacksonville, was the Huckins Yacht Company that built 18 Huckins 78 foot PT Boats during the war. Somewhere I have heard that Elco assembled "kits" that could be shipped out of their New Jersey factory for assembly at other places, like Long Beach California, but I am unsure if any were built anywhere else in Fla. Thanks, Jerry. I will do some more research and let you know what I find.
