Greetings everyone,

I happened across this site while searching for PT Boat information. To say this site is very informative is an understatement. I must have read post for three hours. I look forward to spending time here.

I live in the New Orleans area and I have for years tried to track down the locations of where the PT's were built and tested. Apparently with but a few exceptions most things Higgins vanished shortly after the war.

The above picture shows the original Higgins Industries complex located in New Orleans on the Industrial Canal.

This picture shows Trinity Yachts (Former Higgins Industries). You can still see the original Higgins buildings within the new shipyard. I took this picture probably close to the same spot the original was taken. There is still damage showing from Hurricane Katrina. However this is a working shipyard. They had five yachts that I could see from the other side of the yard.

Welcome to the site! Nice photos thanks. Too bad Trinity doesn't offer to help restore PT 305 for the WW II museum, so she could spend some time in the yard where she was originally built
Thanks again

Thanks Ferg, interesting comparison shot. Glad to see a lot of the old building made it through Katrina.

I lived in the area for a few years, crawfishing still good there? I still can't get over the fact that public high schools are separated to all boy / all girl. Heck of a trick to pull on fresh meat in their senior year!

Yes crayfishing is still good as well as all the other fishing.

As for the schools I am not sure if they still separate m/f when they enter high school, but they did when I was going to school. That limited the choices to a few honors classes (with female students) and some of the younger teachers.
