Hello All. Today I received a letter from Mrs. Robert Clarkin. I suspected it would be sad news. It was. Bob passed away on August 2,2009. He served his country on PT 195 in Ron 12. He w ould have been 83 years old on August 28..We PT boat sailors are rapidly fading away.

I first met Bob Clarkin at a reunion for PT 195 held at my house. in 1992 He served with my dad (Gil deMarrais - who died in 1981). The first thing Bob said to me was "I loved your father", a 4 word sentence that best describes the bond that PT Boaters have for each other. My condolences to his wife Alice. Bob Clarkin will be missed by all those that loved him, including myself.

Russ: Sorry to hear of another P.T. Boater making his last patrol. Our prayers are with you and the family at this sad time. Our numbers are dwindling.
