Hey,
Anyone know where I can find a ww2 navy life jacket? It would be a great item to show the people who ride on PT 728. I'm trying to assemble the gear that a PT boat crew member would have worn and I think the life jacket is a good start. I have my grandfathers WW2 belt, canteen and first aid kit which I plan to show the public, but I feel a life jacket from that era is almost a must. Any idea where I can find one to buy?

You need to take a step back for a moment. Your questions will be answered but you need to be patient. Sometimes it may take a few days to get the answer you are looking for, and sometimes on this board you do not get what you are looking for. These Life Jackets do show up on EBAY from time to time. I have one, which was donated several years ago to my Exhibit. Note that there were two types of Navy Kapok which found their way onto the boats. If you can't find any originals, you can have some repro's made up. The 20MM Ammo Drums do come across for sale now and then, but when you do find them, they are a bit pricey. Sit back and relax, someone will have an answer for you............

Understood. However our season for PT 728 got off to a rocky start and while she's in for engine repaires, I figured i'd find this stuff. Sorry for being short with you guys.
