As many of you know, I have an on going project with my friend Stan Pienkowski building me the Elco Crane. The bigest problem is trying to come up with the actual colr of this massive twin boomed Crane. Black and white photo's lean towards the Crane being sort of a gull grey color, while one of my sources in Bayonne, says it was OD GREEN during the War. I looked through my Giant Killers Elco Factory Film, and I must say it sures looks light in color to me. Anyone know of any color photo's that exist of the Crane. Beter yet, some of you modelers out there that have sen the film, or photos of the Crane, I would like for you to take a shot at what you think the color might be in today's paint colors. Stan will be starting to paint soon, so I need to come to a decision on the paint color. Thanks Guys.........

Frank,
I'd strongly suggest you contact John Snyder of WHITE ENSIGN MODELS.
He's very adept at determining colors from B/W photos.

Thanks Garth, I will do just that and send him a few shots of the Crane. Hopefully, he may come up with some interesting colors......
