I LOVE THIS SHOT - a great ELCO 80 in pristine condition, a Soviet officer drooling over the acceptance - and a Higgins compressed air torpedo launch tube. I assume to keep some type continuity with all the Higgins boats and their launch tubes sent earlier to Soviet Union.

I love seeing any Elco boat getting ready to be placed into the Basin. Still can't get used to seing those funny torpedo tubes on her decks though, which in effect were better then the Elco Tubes in cold weather. A big reason why Russia wanted them so equipt.........

Well, they're scans of xerox's of actual photos, so the quality is not good, but here's what I had in my collection:
Based on the photo credits, I suspect that this was one of 731's tubes.
