Ahoy,
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of "Hell on Keels: The saga of Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 12" a story of wooden boats and iron men by Rick Desloge?
My dad, Rudolph George Roth, (RUDY) was with Ron 12.

Richard, I checked Amazon, and it only has one used copy of the book, priced at a whopping $100!
A search for the book at my primary used book source on the internet, Abebooks.com, came up empty.

Have you tried PT Boats, Inc. If my memory is correct, they had them for sale at one time. |

Following is a little information which I found in "Hell on Keels".
Rudolph Roth was assigned to Ron 12 in February, 1943. He was one of the original crew of the squadron. He assignment ended in August, 1944. At that time most if not all of the original crew had been rotated back to the states. CEM Roth was assigned to the base force. The book reports that he earned the Bronze Star and the Presidential Unit Citation. If you do not have the information, I can give a summary of the squadron's travels from New York to Mios Woendi, New Guinea which was the base in August, 1944 |
