David, are you referring to PT 731, which Elco built for Lend-Lease as the lead boat model for assembly of PTs 732-760 shipped to Russia in knocked-down-form (kits)?
I don't recall ever seeing such photos on the message board, but HQ has several hundred photos detailing all aspects of PT 731 construction. These photos are also contained in a 4-volume assembly manual that Elco provided to the Russians (in English) which gives step-by-step instructions for assembing the kits. HQ also has a copy of this manual in TN.

Hi, Ed B. This must be the boat. I remember a photo of what would be an 80 ' boat cut! into 4/5 sections each sitting on a rolling trolly and each having a number of men pushing such and lined up in such a way so as to give the general outline of a boat albut upsidedown and with 10' between sections.

I'll do some more fishing and thanks for the info Ed B

Hi, Jeff D thats the one and you are right it does look to need a lot of finishing work, thanks guys for your help! If that picture is the 731 Boat then Frank Js. new post showing the PT 731 complete means that Elco new what the were doing and did it well.

Still it is hard to think what the person who was handed the saw and told "Cut along the dotted lines " had on his mind when he realised what job he had just been given!

Thanks again,

D.buck
