Hello everyone-
I have been in communication with Jerry Powell and sent him a lot of stuff regarding RON-10 PT's.
I send him these two shots of my radio controlled PT's in search for ememy shipping on our local pond. These are two of the prettiest shots that I never took! These were taken by our club's photographer Norm Blitch! The nice thing about this shot is that the water spray in the background I have been told looks like a depth charge going off!
Both models have MACK Marine power packages running twin 540's and dual 7.2 Nickle metal hydride rechargable battery packs. The speed control is from Traxxas and water cooled, radio is a 2 channel Futaba stick.
One problem though with the 169! She's very hard to see from a distance because of the zebra stripes. She becomes stealth with a heavy gleam on the surface of the pond. I do remember the very first time out with the 169 when she was fresh off the work bench that I beached her hard full throttle- I couldn't find her! I can only imagine if the Japanese had the same problem with the RON-10 boats!
The other model is the 108 "Li'l Duck"! Yeah I know all about the gray- she's been repainted green!
I don't know about you guys but as for Jerry and myself-
WE LOVE THOSE STRIPES!!!!
