I have enclosed 3 shots of the Elco Crane project in the early stages being built for me by Stan Pienkowski. When completed, she will hold PT 103 being launched into the basin. Will post more as they become available . . . .

Yes that is correct. This Diorama will be 1/72 scale. I would have loved it in 1/35 scale, but then I would need a Tow Truck to move it around. I think the present scale will be an eye popper, just like the FEMU Barge Dio.

I agree with Drew and Frank ...

Frank, I've got to say - even though the Revell kit is close to, if not 50 years old ... it is still a darned good kit ... and in the hands of a good modeler - even now with WEM's photo-etched stuff and guns from John R. Haynes, it can blow the doors off of the big Italeri kit, but that's just my opinion...

Oh, and guys, I just want to let everyone know that - last night - I completed the layout for my revised PT book. All I can say is that if it amazes ME, you guys will be blown away by it.

I have to put a package together and send it off to Squadron.

Garth

I really look forward to owning a copy of the revised book. I am sure it will be very good. In regards to the Elco Crane Model, I decided that both gun turrets will be covered with canvas. The only gun that will be showing will be the 20MM. I decided this because many of the boats that came off the Crane were not fully assembled, and were hauled off to the wet boat basin for completion. Besides, the main item will be the Crane in this Diorama, although there will be plenty to look at when completed. By the way, my publisher called and said he has started to lay out the book, Building the PT Boats, so I hope to get a Galley Proof soon.

Good luck with that phrase of the book Frank, ... it's my least favorite part. Next to doing the layout .......... I HATE that part.

To Garth and Frank A.-

Congradulations to both of you on your upcoming book releases.

Frank- What with all of the fascinating photos you have posted on this board in the past, I for one can't wait to see the published issue!

Garth- Your Squadron book was a blessing in disguise to me when I built my 169 model. I know you had written to me on this board that the color plate was off, but I still found the book extremely fascinating!

Hey Frank A. and Garth- Just a thought here but can the frequent posters to the PT Boat message board get a signed copy of said publications? I think that a little penmanship on the inside cover would be worth the cost of the book it self.

Thanks guys!
