Hello again from OZ,

Firstly I wish to sincerely thankyou all for your very informative responses, you have all been most helpfull. I had a feeling I was opening the dreaded 'can of worms' and it certainly promoted some vigorous debate.

I think I will 'do' my model with the mast removed as alluded to by Ted, Frank and Garth (yes I know Garth you said the mast was not raised).

David Waples -- thanks for posting the photo's and your model is SUPERB. I remember seeing those pics on another forum I think quite some time ago. I also like the pic of '107' with the dinghy lashed across the bow.

Drew Cook, Allan and 'PeterTareBuilder -- is there any chance you could post the piccies you both mentioned?

Again Gentlemen, thankyou very much,

Roger Pearson.

DREW;
Trying to gather info, photos, and get somebody with a serious business backround interested in saving PT 48 for restoration has been almost my single PT Boat focus over the last 16 years. I even put writing a PTBoat book I started in 1996 while in Panama, on the back burner for her.
As for becoming a PT Boat legend by finding photos of 109 taken by Larson or his crew, or Westholm. Thanks, but I still think they are out there somewhere in a box in someones attic or closet, maybe there are five or 6, maybe 30, I don't really know, but only time will tell. Besides in our own ways, I believe everyone on this board is a PT Boat Legend, we can all find comfort in the fact, if there is some PT Boat question we don't know the answer to, we can post it on this board. Most of the time someone knows the correct answer, and if they don't, there will be somebody on this board who will help you find the answer. That is the most fantastic thing about this board, we have PT Boat veterans, modelers, and historians, and all of you are always willing to help.
Take care all,
TED
