Here are a couple quick pics of the depth charge location on Ron 33 boats. These were taken during the squadrons time at Leyte Gulf.

I think the 493 boat had them between the fish and a 40mm gunner on the 495 said his boat had no depth charges in the P.I. but carried 2 smoke canisters.

That is a very interesting boat. It looks like a great subject for the Italeri kit. Are there any more photos of these boats that would lend a clue on camo patterns, color, etc.?
Thanks
Dave

David, I have all of my Uncle's pictures & there are others of Ron 33 boats & yes a few do show camo patterns to some degree. The pictures all weathered a house fire at his daughters & it has had an affect on some of them. Others are just plain bad WWII black & whites, blurry, grainy etc. The picture here of 492 actually shows the port side Jungle camo although because of the shortness of the grayscale range on the photo it's barely visible at all. I've scanned all his photos & am now in the process of restoring & cleaning them all up & when I play with the gray balance the camo becomes much more visible. There are others that show camo patterns quite well & once I get them all done I'm planning to post them all to a photo album on Photo bucket.
