Hello everyone-

I just wanted to say that it's a very sweet feeling and joy to be back home from my most recent total knee replacement operation on Feb. 24th.
I was in the hospital for 2 days then shipped to a re-hab facility for 19 days! Now I'll have about two months of at home re-hab!

The worst part of being couped up for 19 days was no internet! They had access to a computer at the re-hab facility but was under repair.

I sure missed looking at the ol' message board every day and I have a lot of posts to read up on and get caught up with.

With my new knee(s), (I had the left one done last year), I'll be rearing to go! Just wanted to let everybody know that I didn't fall off the edge!

FRANK IS BACK!!!

Frank

Welcome back. I hope the knee surgery went well because I need the same thing done. I keep putting it off because I am only 52. Yes, I said 52. My Birthday was March 16th. While you were gone, I hit the Lottery for 57 Million Bucks. I am having an 80 Footer built as we speak. It will be docked at my new home at Cape Cod, where I can look at her every day.

Now for the truth. I am still 52, I still need Knee replacements, and my wallet seems very empty these days. The last time I won the Lottery was a few years back, and I won $50.00. The taxes were $20.00, my wife took $15.00, and I spent $10.00 in gas taking her shopping. Glad to hear your back Frank, GOOD LUCK.

Good to see you're back, Frank, and like Frank A., I too am a possible candidate for a future knee(s) replacement deal...and I'm 55.

Hope your healing & rehab go well. I'm told by someone who's had both knees done that after post-op, healing, and rehab, it's "absolutely fantastic!"

Frank: We missed your input on the board while you were gone. I have been there and done that with one knee - last July. You guys do it while you are young. It's tougher when you get to be 83. I still have problems but am sure it will be fine in time..

Thanks guys for the well wishes! I'm getting stronger every day- just like that old Chicago tune goes. I had a rough night trying to get some shut eye last night- the first night home in three weeks!!

My fantastic wife Lori is my nurse! She worked as an RN for some 35 years and said enough is enough! I wouldn't trade her for all the restored PT's out there!!!

I have suffered with these knees of mine for almost half of my life time. I'm 61 ! What really did my knees in was working as a steel worker in the mill. There was always slag and all kinds of debris under foot and made for a wobble all day long.

I had a medical check up about seven years ago and my doctor told me that both of my knees were shot to hell. He didn't have to tell me that! I had been living with pain for almost 30 years! He said I needed to have knee replacements then but I said NO WAY!!

Last year I returned to that same doctor and pleaded with him to do the operation. The pain was unbearable! I couldn't go anywhere, I couldn't enen stand for very long periods of time. I told him I wanted both knees done at the same time! He told me flat out-NO!! He'd do one at a time! Last Jan. '08 I had the left knee done and now the right a year later.

For Frank A. and CJ ! The longer you wait to have your knees done, simply put, the more damage you will inflict on your body overall. You'll find a different way of walking which will affect your hips and spine! If you guys are thinking about having your knees fixed, get ;em done as soon as possible! You'll feel a whole lot better in the long run.

Wecome back ,Frank. Good luck with your second knee operation. I had a hip replaced when I was 67 and it is fantastic. That was 17 1/2 years ago. Two years ago I had to have the ball and socket replaced because I abused it cutting trees on a steep bank. The position of my leg with the replacement hip, which I was using for support on the downside of the incline, was in an awkward position while i did the cutting.
A hip operation is a piece of cake compared to the knee.
I'm sure that honey of a nurse will take good care of you.
Do catchh up on your posts. As usual, there are some pips that you will enjoy.
Via con dios,
Russ
